Dear Sophie,
Guess what! During the holidays I went to New Caledonia with my family. In Noumea we stayed at the Pacific Hotel and I swam in the pool every day. As well, I kite-surfed for the first time and my sister snorkelled. In the mornings we crossed the road to go to the beach where we played volleyball. In the evenings we ate French food at wonderful restaurants and my sister went out to nightclubs.  On the weekend we went to Amedee Island. It was really good weather.  We climbed the lighthouse - what a magnificent view!  Then we fed the fish and we saw a striped water snake. Next we ate bougna, a New Caledonian speciality, and finally we watched a dance exhibition.  Mum danced but she fell over and we laughed. I went shopping but I didn't buy presents. Sorry!

Chère Sophie,

Devine quoi!  Pendant les vacances je suis allé en Nouvelle-Calédonie avec ma famille.  À Nouméa nous sommes restés à l'Hôtel Le Pacifique et j'ai nagé dans la piscine chaque jour. De plus, j'ai fait du kite-surf pour la première fois et ma soeur a fait de la plongée en tuba.  Tous les matins nous avons traversé la rue pour aller  à la plage où nous avons joué au volley.  Tous les soirs nous avons mangé la cuisine française aux restaurants formidables et ma soeur est sortie en boîte de nuit. Le weekend nous sommes allés à l'Île Amédée.  Il a fait très beau.  Nous avons grimpé le phare - quelle vue magnifique!  Puis nous avons donné à manger aux poissons et nous avons vu un tricot rayé. Ensuite nous avons mangé la bougna, une spécialité nouvelle-calédonienne, et enfin nous avons regardé un spectacle de danse.  Maman a dansé mais elle est tombée et nous avons ri.  J'ai fait du shopping mais je n'ai pas acheté de cadeaux. Désolé.
